Pedagogy & Fighting with The Poor

Double B-certificate

(24 months)

When joining this two-year Development Instructor program, you will acquire knowledge and experience in teaching, instructing and fighting with The Poor, and train a broad range of practical skills. You will study, investigate, confront and bring to the public ways and means in which ordinary people can and must deal with the pressing issues facing humankind in today’s world.

You will spend the first year on the job, working and training as a teacher or in a Humana People to People second-hand clothes collection, combined with and backed by theoretical studies and investigations of the big issues of our time, how people learn and how pedagogy can be used in the service of mankind.

During the second year, you will be teaching and fighting with The Poor in a third world country in two four-month stints. Back at the school, you will bring your new knowledge and experience to the public, and lastly, you will finalize the program with exams.

This two-year training leads to a double B-certificate, completed as distance learning, from the faculties of Pedagogy and Fighting with The Poor, respectively, at One World University in Mozambique. The program will later be available as a double B-certificate completed as distance learning from the faculties of Fighting with The Poor and Polyhistory.


THE FIRST YEAR

WORKING, STUDYING AND GETTING IT READY

 

Working as teacher or assistant teacher at a school, training youth or adults who need special support, or as a worker at a Humana People to People clothes collection. Studying and investigating subject matter relevant to each period headline, using a range of pedagogical variables.

 

 

* Each period lasts 1 month.

  • Period 1: New encounter – new base
  • Period 2: The Development Instructor concept
  • Period 3: The forces that shape the world
  • Period 4: How do people really learn?
  • Period 5: Peace not war
  • Period 6: Getting close to the lot of The Poor
  • Period 7: Teaching for Power or for People
  • Period 8: Fighting with The Poor
  • Period 9: Global Warming and Climate Change
  • Period 10: New technologies for the future
  • Period 11: Farming for food
  • Period 12: Exams cavalcade

 

 

THE SECOND YEAR

FIGHTING WITH THE POOR

 

  • Period 13 – (4 months): Teaching and Studying Pedagogy in Africa: Working as a teacher at a Humana People to People school in Africa. Studying pedagogy and using what is learned in the teachings.
  • Period 14 – (4 months): Fighting with The Poor in Africa: Fighting with The Poor in practice and theory. Going together with The Poor, identifying their problems and needs, getting hold of solutions and carrying them out in practice, shoulder to shoulder with The Poor.
  • Period 15 – (2 months): The Journal: Bringing the new knowledge to the Public Arena.
  • Period 16 – (2 months): Final Exams and The Future: Studying and Final Exams. Taking a futuristic view of the world and own life.
